How Online Learning Works
Aloha University is designed for students who need flexibility without sacrificing structure. All programs are fully online, asynchronous, and delivered through a predictable monthly academic rhythm.
Fully Online, Fully Asynchronous
All coursework at Aloha University is completed online. There are:
- No required live lectures
- No scheduled class meeting times
- No geographic location requirements
Students access courses, complete assignments, and submit assessments entirely through the Canvas Learning Management System.
Monthly Course Structure
Courses are designed around a month-by-month progression model.
- Students may be enrolled in up to five courses at the same time
- Students may complete and begin one new course per month
- Coursework is asynchronous, but progress follows defined academic milestones
This structure allows students to maintain steady forward momentum while managing other responsibilities.
Academic Pace & Flexibility
Students control their pace within academic rules:
- Faster progress may reduce total time enrolled
- Slower progress extends enrollment without penalty
- Tuition remains flat regardless of course load
Students may pause enrollment for up to 24 months if needed.
Instructional Model
Aloha University uses an AI-first instructional model with human oversight.
- Core learning materials are delivered digitally
- AI-assisted tools support instruction, practice, and feedback
- Academic oversight ensures alignment with learning objectives and degree requirements
This approach allows the university to scale instruction while maintaining consistent academic structure.
Learning Platform
All courses are delivered through Canvas, a widely used learning platform that provides:
- Central access to course materials
- Assignment submission and feedback
- Academic resources and student support tools
Students log in through a single platform for all academic activity.
Advising & Student Support
Academic advising is available on demand.
All students must complete a required University Success Course before beginning academic coursework. This course introduces:
- Online learning expectations
- Academic tools and resources
- Institutional policies and standards
Admissions & Start Dates
- Rolling admissions
- Start dates on the first of each month
- Enrollment limited to U.S. residents at launch
Students admitted to Aloha University may delay their start date for up to two years without reapplying.
Transparency
Aloha University is not accredited. Institutional status, tuition, and academic policies are published so students can make informed decisions before enrolling.
