Family Conversation Checklist

Use this checklist to have a clear, supportive conversation before your student applies.

  • Goal: What bachelor’s degree is your student pursuing, and why?
  • Schedule reality: How many hours per week can they consistently study?
  • Pace plan: What does “one new course per month” look like in their week-to-week routine?
  • Support plan: If they fall behind, who will they contact first—advising or the instructor support channel?
  • Study setup: Do they have reliable internet, a dependable device, and a quiet place to work?
  • Community: Will they join Aloha Life for connection, clubs, and events—or prefer to stay independent?
  • Money clarity: Do you understand tuition is $99/month (billed on the 1st while enrolled) plus the $50 application and $50 graduation fees?
  • Accreditation disclosure: Do you understand Aloha University is not accredited, and what that may mean for future plans (transfer, licensing, employer requirements)?
  • Contingency: If life happens, do you understand enrollment can be paused for up to 24 months?
