Aloha University Launches April Kickstarter to Build the World’s First AI-Run University — Starting With “Listener Access” for Non-Credit Learning

Campaign funds an affordability mission for higher education and a Learner Access Fund to expand access

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi — March 28, 2026 — Aloha University announced today that it will launch a Kickstarter campaign in April to fund development of what it describes as the world’s first fully online, self-paced AI-run university model, where course design, tutoring, instruction, and administration are performed by AI systems under human oversight. The long-term mission is affordability: a model designed to make higher education dramatically less expensive, targeting approximately $60/month tuition when launched.

The Kickstarter campaign will offer Aloha University Listener Access as the primary reward. Listener Access is a non-credit learning experience that provides access to full course content — readings, lectures, and learning resources — without tests, graded assignments, or required discussion participation. Listener Access does not confer academic credit and does not award degrees through Kickstarter.

The campaign also introduces a Learner Access Fund, enabling backers to sponsor Listener Access for learners who cannot afford paid learning programs. Aloha University plans to publish an annual anonymized impact report describing scholarship participation and learning outcomes in aggregate.

“Higher education shouldn’t require life-changing debt,” said John {{LastName}}, founder of Aloha University. “This campaign funds a concrete deliverable — Listener Access and the platform foundation — while advancing a broader affordability mission.”
